ABOUT NDOLA BIOMEDICAL SCHOOL

Background

Ndola College of Biomedical Sciences initially used to offer a 2 year certificate in medical laboratory services.

The proposal for upgrading the institution from a certificate awarding school to a diploma awarding college was approved in May 1999 as part of the Ireland Aid Support programme to Zambia through the Ministry of Health. The Ireland Aid in collaboration with Ministry of Health, provided funds for the infrastructure development and training of lecturers in the Republic of Ireland

The diploma programme was commenced on 31st July 2001, with the first student intake of 18, comprising 11 female and 7 males.

To date 163 students have graduated from the college since inception (2001).
